Four storylines to watch out for as Juventus hosts Lazio
Fresh of a much-needed 3-0 win vs Spezia on Tuesday evening, Juventus are back at it, as they host Lazio in another must-win to keep pace with league leaders Inter Milan, and second place Ac Milan.
Here are four storylines to watch for, as to how this game might unfold.
1) Federico Bernardeschi has finally arrived. After not showing much in games which Andrea Pirlo started him, he played his game on the pitch, as he came off the bench and sparked Juventus in the second half with assists on 2 of the three goals in their victory. His long running down the wings, opened things up for the likes of Ronaldo and Morata. Is this the play of Juventus fans alike we have been waiting for. Lets hope this is a start of something special for Berna as Juve gets into the heart of the Serie A schedule.
2) Getting key players back from injury. From all reports in practice this week, it looks like Juan Cuadrado and Leonardo Bonucci should be back vs Lazio this week to bolster the back line and attacking respectively. Cuadrado long bursts down the flanks was missing since his absence and Juve looked lost in some games, and lacked drive and passion. Bonucci will be needed vs Lazio and the return fixture vs Porto in the Champions League.
3) Will Pirlo change formations during games. When things donate go to well in games, or Juventus has been struggling, Andrea Pirlo has been reluctant to change the formation to adapt to the style of play to win. Versus Spezia, he did change the formation, and made key changes in the second half. Hopefully this trend continues vs Lazio and for the rest of the season, with in game adjustments.
4) Not losing concentration when leading. As has been the trend this season, when Juventus has the lead they seem to play with no purpose, and lack cohesiveness with the ball. This trend must end as they can't afford to drop any points moving forward.
