Ahead of the Coppa America final, Danilo took the time to speak with Gazzetta Dello Sport about Juventus, Ronaldo, and his form.

The Azzurri

I've always put Italy among my favorites. Chiellini and Bonucci are still a formidable pair and Chiesa is doing well. I'll be cheering for them on Sunday.

Serie A

Italy is the university for a defender. You work a lot on the defensive phase, alongside Giorgio and Leo I learned to close off spaces, to choose when it's time to go out and when to make a run. Thanks to Serie A I've improved a lot and become more complete. I was lucky to arrive at Juve at the right time, with the maturity to take advantage of the opportunity to raise my level. The first year I had to settle in, now I've found continuity. I'm very happy at Juve. I'm satisfied with my career, but it's not time to look back yet: I want to win with Brazil and then come back to Turin to help Juve win the Scudetto again. The Champions League is everyone's dream, but after a difficult season it's more important for us to start off by winning Serie A. We'll think about the UCL later on.

I'm curious and very motivated. Allegri's CV speaks for him, having a winning coach is the best for someone who always wants to improve like me. I think we can do great things together.

It's important for us to have him (Ronaldo) in the team, because he brings an avalanche of goals, and he's a dear friend, we've known each other since our time at Real. He'll be with us again next season.

Gabriel Jesus

Gabriel Jesus in Serie A? Of course. Gabriel is strong and very intelligent, in Italy he could grow further because in this league teams close themselves well and it is more difficult to score goals. If I could, I would bring him to Juventus.
