4 storylines to watch for: Juventus vs Atalanta - Coppa Italia Final
In one of the worst seasons in the last 10 years for Juventus, one saving grace can be made, on Wednesday evening by winning the Coppa Italia vs Atalanta, which will be the only trophy Juve will be able to capture this season. With Milan somehow not able to beat Cagliari on Sunday evening, there is hope for the Old Lady to catch the last champions league spot by bearing Genoa, and hoping Milan either lose or tie at Atalanta which is a possibility.
As the Coppa Italia looms on Wednesday evening let's see how this game might unfold.
1) Please start Dybala. As was evident in the wild and crazy win vs Inter in the Derby D' Italia not starting Paulo Dybala almost was fatal. Starting Alvaro Morata has not been a great success as he has lost his way after starting the season strong. When Dybala starts, he just seems to make the team play with more speed and passion.
2.) Juan is the man. Juan Cuadrado was like a man possessed vs Inter on Sunday. With his long runs down the flanks he just seems to play with so much passion and heart, and opens lanes for the likes of Ronaldo and the other strikers. More of the same against Atalanta will be beneficial in winning the Coppa Italia.
3) Will Atalanta rest a few of their stars. The question remains will Gasperini rest a few of the big guns on Wednesday in anticipation of their season-ending clash vs Milan on the weekend. That remains to be seen. If that's the case, then Juventus should be able to score a few goals in bunches . With an incentive pay of 10 million euros assured for finishing in second place that might be the motivation, not to start the regulars.
4) Gigi's swan song. Well this will be the last match for the heart and soul of Juventus and Italy. He still has the determination and heart to play, as was evident vs Sassuolo in stopping a penalty kick and saving the Old Lady a few times. When he plays he controls the backline and gets everyone into position and ready to play. Thanks for the memories El Capitano. You are and always will be Juve forever and ever.
